Old and new Luleå
Gammelstad Church Village, the old town of Luleå, is a typical northern Scandinavian church village, placed on UNESCO World Heritage list. Surrounding the late-medieval church are more than 400 wooden cottages that parishioners used during church festivals.
Today’s Luleå is northern Sweden’s principal city, a commercial center and meeting place with a great variety of shops, cafés and restaurants.
